Modern Times Coffee

One of the coolest coffee shops i have ever been to. The atmosphere is like no other. Great americano. Food was terrific. Very nice staff.

TLDR: eclectic decorations but amazing coffee at fair prices and friendly service I had the cinnamon honey iced latte which came out perfectly, not too sweet but very flavorful. Fernando was very nice and held some pleasant conversation about the interior of the place, it also serves food and is a bar at night!

FUN spot, excellent coffee, excellent breakfast. I got the avocado toast first time and the strawberry mint toast the second time. Food and coffee were crazy good. Vibes are high, decor is wild. Pet friendly.

Great Breakfast, but one unpleasant interaction I had breakfast here on Sunday, and it was one of the best breakfasts I’ve ever had in San Diego. The food was delicious, and the service from both the cashier and the waiter was excellent, very attentive and friendly. Since it was a busy morning, there was a long line to order food and drinks, and it moved quite slowly. However, once we placed our order, the food came out surprisingly fast. The only downside to my experience was an interaction with the barista. He came to our table to deliver our drinks but did so in a way that felt unnecessarily aggressive, almost slamming them onto the table. It was clear that he was frustrated, likely because we had stepped outside to find a table instead of waiting for our names to be called for the drinks. This was my mistake, I completely forgot that the server had mentioned they would call our names. That said, I would have appreciated a simple, “I was calling your name”. I even thanked him, but he didn’t respond. Despite this, the food and overall service were fantastic, and I would definitely return.

Love this place! The best Flat White in Downtown and one of the best breakfast spots. The place has good music selection, usually free comfy spots to sit and friendly owner. They transform into a cocktail bar in the eve (for those who prefer quieter places) with a special cocktail selection.

First time there and was pleased with how they made my latte. Usually it’s never made extra hot but this place did. Atmosphere is fun and warm with lovely music. Barista was friendly and gracious. He was courteous to the homeless guy hanging about. Thanks for my drink and respite while running 7 miles.

There's always a line, but it's worth the wait. My wife and kids love the modern times coffee, and the food from J&Tony's is great. The nitro cold brew on tap is great, and much faster than the espresso drinks. But the espresso drinks are really good too
